Hey... I have been into punk since I was 15 and I'm now 22 and for some reason only 2 of my friends are punks. Does anyone know of actual punk bars to go to, not like HOB or Chain Reaction or any clubs I mean bars, where a lot of punks go, cuz I need more punk friends and a punk boyfriend. Basically I wanna surround myself with people who have the same interests as me. If anyone out there knows of anything let me know. I'm always bored and have nothing to do on the weekends.
Thanks

"I need more punk friends and a punk boyfriend"

people are people. just because it's "punk" doesn't make it good.
i hope you don't make any friends.

haha No shit. You need a punk boyfriend eh? Wow ya know what, I bet if you post this on an internet message board you can get all kinds of guys just as pathetic as yourself, to say they'll be your b/f. That will be so cool. I don't have 1 punk friend and I really don't give a shit. Does it up your status to have all punk friends? It must.

Yeah I don't have at least one punk friend either. It's pretty dumb how you just want punk friends and a punk boyfriend as if punks are much better than anything else. One day you'll get tired of living in your punk scene and see it as juvenile and boring, just wait.....you'll see....................it's gonna come...................just you watch..............................

Well... Punks are few and far between now... the true ones at least. You won't find any punks at chain reaction... it is a place for crap and crap alone. HOB i have never heard of, and it doesnt seem to bother me either. I'd hang out with you, but I don't drink and you probably wouldn't want someone younger hanging around you...

A scene is a scene, but music is music for life. Music is what makes you, not a scene. Sheesh.

I am what used to be a punk (i dont use that term because of how it is interpreted nowadays, I want nothing to do with it...) and I dont see what is wrong with having no "punk friends" as you say it. I hang out with people that dont mind my music, and I dont mind theirs. I hang out with a computer nerd, a tabletop/video gamer, a "death/black/heavy" metal head, a raver, rudie/emo kid, and I am one of the few that actually knew about punk before any of them. I showed it to them, not that they like it. I have one friend that I hardly see anymore, because he moved, that listens to the same shit I do, but he lives far away, and he can't really be considered punk...
All in all, if all you have is punk friends, you are a closed minded idiot.;) :p Now you see, GO OUTSIDE AND MAKE SOME FRIENDS OUT OF STRANGERS. Or anyone for that matter... you spend all your time on this forum instead of doing crap... sheesh.
[Disclaimer:] This post was to all of you who say you need punk friends, or want them. Just because your friends aren't "punk enough," doesn't mean they won't go to concerts and small venues with you. Sheesh.
(Dannyboy, it seems my friend base is more pathetic than yours. ;) I mean, c'mon, I hang with a raver... and he taught me some glowstick techniques. :p

I see what you saying Av. Two punk friends is better than no friends, but really what you're saying is that one shouldn't limit oneself to one style when in search of friends. Diversity is desirable. I guess I was just trying to make the guy feel better, or at least help him not to take the friends he has for granted.

Then I have heard of it.
This topic is just people ranting like trendy people about not having trendy friends, for the basics of it. They don't realize what they sound like.:D

Hey, don't listen to all of these shit talkers. I understand that you are just trying to find people with similar interests. Why would you want to make friends with people that don't share any interests? I am a punk guy that knows of many punk bars, and places to hang out. If you are interested, drop me a line and give me your email. Thanks!

I understand wanting friends with similar interests as well. The part I do not understand is why she "needs" punk friends, and most of all a punk boyfriend. I'm all for friends with similar interests but I get the feeling by her post that she will feel she is a "better punk" or some bullshit if she has punk friends. Just my .02.

Yes, I also believe that was implied in her original post.
Now, let's think about this...
My friends... lemme list em for you...
Raver
Metal Head/Reggae listener (he's mostly a mix)
Death/Black Metal Head
ScFi Geeks x3
Half Punk/Half Indie
Computer Geeks (galore in the group)
Now... let's see... Where are all the punks? I don't care for most of them. They are usually closed minded assholes. I know, I'm a closed minded :asshole:
Yeah most of my friends are car guys. I also have a few just your average southern california people friends. My showgoing buddy is really into Nirvana and The Doors but likes punk as well. Friends are friends no matter how you classify them. Oh yeah and I just got back from The Buzzcocks show. It was terrific!!

what exactly are the "punk" people? it seems that everyone here has some different interpretations...nowadays..there are sooo many "punks". Yeah, and you'll find that punks are just people and i hang out with some pretty cool people..some are just annoying as fuck...but i'm willing to get to know anyone...emphasis on the anyone part!

i dont really think there is anything wrong with wanting to hang out with people who have similar interests. i have lots of friends but none of them will go to shows with me because they don't like the music, so i usually go alone. thats cool, but sometimes its more fun when you have someone with you to make fun of people with and help you get up if you fall while moshing. but as long as someone likes my music, or is at least willing to accompany me to shows and stuff i don't really care what classification they fall under.
