I would just like to say Thanks to Brian for taking up my suggestion! You rawk hardcore with a capital arrr! So, here's my review from my journal at www.deadjournal.com/users/rocknrollsab

LONGFELLOW, BABY!

OH man, words cannot describe the sheer ecstasy I had when I got to see this most excellent band! Ok, my bro and I went to this show by ourselves because most of our friends don't like Longfellow (they are dead to me). Anyway, we got their kinda late, and we missed the only ska band on the bill, go figure. They are called OCP and I hear they were good. Maybe I'll go check them out.

So, we got there in time to see the second band - Pushover. They were rock/emo. I don't know, I kind of liked them, and I kind of didn't. Go check out their site at www.pushover.com or www.pushovermusic.com I really don't remember the url.

Next up was Handsome Devil. These guys reminded me of a crappy Zebrahead. They all wore eyeliner and were pretty generic rock. I don't think I would ever pay to see them.

Death on Wednesday was up next. These guys reminded me of the Bouncing Souls, except not as good. The singer's voice, however, was very melifluous. They had a crowd of stupid rich Huntington Beach jocks there to see them. I was up front, and they kept climbing up all over me and pushing and, dude, the mosh pit is back there, not up here. Anyway, they were ok. They are playing a show with Suburban Legends in April at the House of Blues, Anaheim.

After enduring those horrible jocks, I made my way right to the front. I was right against the stage to see LONGFELLOW, BABY! Oh ya, most definitly one of THE best bands out there. I think I only like Ultimate Fakebook just as much. Anyway, I had the set list right in front of me to read, so I stole it when they were done, hehe. Tones, one of the guitarists, signed my ticket stub for me and so did Steve, the bass player. Tom, the singer let me sing in the mic for one song, I don't remember which song.

They opened with "Smokescreen," minus the minute-long intro. Next was "Falling Into You", "Then", a new one off of their new EP (self-titled), "Ohm", "Sheet Rock", "Fading Into Forgotten", "Brave New World", "Beautiful", (which is also on the new EP and is simply amazing!), "The Time It Takes to Kill A Man is Life", "Television Snow", (also new), "Mint Condition", (new), "Relentless", (new), "Allergy Season", "Bone China", (new), and they played "The Crowd", which is a crowd favorite. I wish they had also played "Peaks and Valleys", but, "The Crowd" is so awesome.

I rocked out so hard to this show. If the only other shows I go to this year are Ultimate Fakebook and Rancid/NOFX, I'll be satisfied. Seriously, I love Longfellow that much. I don't know how Tom has so much energy on stage. After crowdsufing, he dived back on stage and hit his back on the box he was standing on. OUCH! But, he's a trooper and just rocked on.
