Hey everyone...

I'm a member of the City of Irvine High School Youth Action Team, a branch of the community services department for the city. The HSYAT holds events, forums, and community service projects for teenagers in Irvine.

But what does this have to do with you?

The HSYAT is looking to book bands for an event on Friday, September 26th. The event is called Band Aide. It is a combination show and canned food drive (show go-ers get in at a discount price if they bring canned food). Last year's Band Aide had great turn-out (I believe there were a couple hundred kids there!).

If your band would be interested in playing this event, I need a demo and a bio. All demos/bios for Band Aide have to be in by September 1st, which is a Monday. On that Monday the HSYAT members will choose which bands will play.

If your band is interested but can't make that particular date, also let me know because we will have at least 4-5 other band events in upcoming months.

If your band has participated in an HSYAT event before, we'd love to have you back. :)

For more information (such as where to send demos/bios, more info about Band Aide, or more info on the HSYAT), email me at: aly@je-reve.net.

By the way, although I work for the city, etc...blahblah..and this letter is so formal, etc...I really just joined ocpunk because I would've joined anyway, and I happen to think it'd be great to exploit to help do my job, too...hehehe...

GOD DAMN HER PLEASE!

Sorry to be so rude, BUT FLOODING IS NOT THE WAY OF GETTING BANDS. You will most likely repulse people that way.

I posted it three times, get over yourself. Please. If you don't like it, don't read it. I'm sick and tired of these people who think it's fashionable to be an asshole...or that it makes them more punk rock...whatever...the scene doesn't need you.

I think you have me wrong. The reason I was being so pissy, is because you pissed me off. That's all. I am not an asshole on a regular basis. The scene doesn't need anyone really, people just come to it. Get it straight.

I still think your reaction was out of line/inappropriate for my actions. ;) But I guess we can agree to disagree.

Well, I did, in fact, apologize for my rudeness in my initial reaction

Pardon my incredulence at the sincerity of said apology, but you did say it directly after proclaiming "GOD DAMN HER"...
