I missed the opening bands due to prior commitments. Sorry. If anyone saw them, please post a reply!
D.I. - It was good to see D.I. again. Things started off a little sloppy, but I don't think that was their fault because the sound at the club sucked my ass BIG TIME. Major feedback, the bands kept complaining that they couldn't hear squat. Bad Bad Bad sound. But anyway, toward the end, D.I. got things tightened up a bit. They had a great set overall. Played all the favs, Guns, Richard, Youth In Asia, OC Life, etc. Pretty much Horse Bites Dog Cries and Ancient Artifacts albums, plus at least one new song that was pretty good. MUCH better than most other new songs I've heard them do in the past few years. I think they finally got it right (again!). Casey was funny as usual. Lots of jokes crackin'. Oh, and they did Amoeba from Casey's days in the Adolescents. Great set. Lots of fun despite the shitty shitty sound job from the club.
AGENT ORANGE----------------KILLED----------------- One of the best sets I've seen any band play in YEARS. They have to have one of THE best drummers on the PLANET. This guy was kicking MAJOR MAJOR ass. Bass player was rockin' hard....Tight ass rhythm section. Excellent lead guitar surf licks. For a 3 piece, they sure did pack a punch. They absolutely blew my ass away. I swear their drummer is the shizzle nizzle............KICKED ASS. They played all the hits mainly off of Living in Darkness--- El Dorado, Bloodstains, No Such Thing, etc. plus a few newer ones. Again, great set....despite the shitty sound job from the club. They are touring with the Misfits, if these guys come through your town, DEFINITELY check them out. Pure energy set.
On a side note....FUCK the Galaxy. Their security are assholes. Anyone else ever have run ins w/ their security? I'd love to compare stories. I KNOW there are more than a few.
