HIV Muppet?

What the hell is the world coming to? S. Street will begin to air a new muppet with HIV. Can anyone tell me why children need to know about HIV when they aren't even six years old? They shouldn't worry about STD's until puberty. They aren't going to understand what HIV is, so why have a muppet with HIV. What do you think?

i can see your point about children being so young to learn aboout something so serious but look how many adults who are still ignorent when it comes to HIV in this day and age... the muppet airs in south africa because a lot of people are infected with the disease there so having more children aware might help them from gettign infected

Im sure that nobody would have a problem with Sesame Street having a character with cancer, which they have done. Or a person in a wheelchair, which they have done. HIV is a disease that is huge in Africa and real knowledge is scarce. To assimilate children early with the disease will remove some of the stigmas and mystery about HIV so that when they have to learn the specifics they will already be comfortable. Also, while rare in the US, in Africa many pre-pubescant children have HIV and AIDS from their mothers, needles, and sex.

good point commonsenseboy.... i think the reason people are so uptight about HIV/AIDS is becuase its liek identified with homosexuals, or a "dirty" lifestyle.... which is not true.... what do you guys think?

thats crazy that sesame street is gonna have a muppet with HIV, i think its a great idead for them to do that, because when you learn things at a young age and keep learning about tat same something through adolescence you will have a lot of knowledge about that something... i dunno, does that make sense?? shit.. whatever..

AHAHA HIV puppet? ahh thats funny...i think its cool...and i agree with most of you guys..i think u should let all the clueless kids about this so they are aware of these things in life.....AHAHA i rememvber when i watched sesame street...haha i watched it till i was like 10...wats wrong with me? and iremember my sister came in and shes like "change the channel ur too old for this" and im like "oh i know im just watching this cuz after this is the magic school bus" AHAHA i remember that..man back then my childhood sucked....but its fun to act immature

hmm i think so...ha just kidding...yeah me too i like watching caroons..like tom and jerry...the one with the cat and mouse...i always felt sympathy towards the cat...becuz the cat always got hurt and the mouse would always win
