i dont believe in the death penalty i seriously think it is like totally wrong...like wat they are going to do with that guy that killed samantha runnion they might give him the deathh penalty or watever...but that is like murdering! and why cant instead u just put him in jail for the rest of his life...i mean COME ON!!!!!! death penalty is murder! i mean its like okay if some guy killed ur mom and then u get mad and kill him....thats like the same thing....but u would get in trouble for killing the guy that killed ur mom..ITS SOOO DUMB I TELL YOU....ahh... anyways i just wanted to start a new post... :)

I'd have to disagree with you. I'm actually very pro death penalty. You asked why can't we put this MURDER in jail for the REST OF HIS LIFE? I'll give you an anwser: We, the American People, don't want to waste our hard earned tax money on feeding, clothing, bathing, and basically taking care of someone who killed someone else on purpose for the rest of their natural life.

while, the death penalty is murder, i'd have to aggree with KarmaPunk, we're paying taxes to keep these people alive, and the prisons are overcrowded as it is. but on the other hand, the death penalty should only be used if there are hard facts that the person did the crime. I mean you can't just take the jurys decision to kill a man, he could be innocent. or if the person is mentally unstable then they obviously need help... hmmm, i'm writing too much, i don't even care too much about it.

Just to let everyone know, it is actually cheaper to keep someone in prison for life than it is to take theirs. I see it like this: there is a war between good and evil in this world. Every time the people who are supposed to be good kill, evil wins. How about this... instead of the death penalty, harder prison sentences. No weights, not tv, tough manual labor... why not?

Harder punishments? That could be the anwser. But still I keep strong to my point. The death penalty is only requestable on a few offences.. such as murder in the first degree: when the person thinks and plans and then completes the murder. Also I do agree, the evidence should be there. There has to be a 99.99999999% chance that the defendent is guilty. Either way, sugarhigh is right. It basically comes down to personal opinion.

You're right, the Death Penalty IS murder....but you know what? GODDAMN RIGHT. My only grievance is that I can't do the honor myself and that all the family members of these raped and murdered kids can do is watch him die peacefully behind a screen.

But I will say this...the penal system is incredibly flawed, and I believe a large amount of the death row population has been wrongly accused...so as far as the System goes it needs to be reformed, so that we know for sure that it IS the assholes that get what they deserve...but as far as feeling sorry for child killers, my heart is a rock and if theres any kind of Hell, I'd give my own life to make sure they get there. <^>
