If you go to a punk show and plan on "crowd surfing"... don't wear your Boots, If you do, don't be an asshole and kick around while you're up there. There's nothing worse then getting kicked in the head by some dumbass wearing boots who can't control their legs! ARGH! It hurts a lot...A LOT!
I don't mind having guys tumbling around above me but when you wear boots and kick (even if you don't wear boots...don't kick man) It sucks ass... And if you wear steel toed don't even go up cos' you're gonna knock someone out.
Hmmm... purple bruises... i like my purple bruises, they're my battle scars of the pit. i'm not whining about my pain (i like the pain) I'm just saying DON'T KICK!

I can't agree more! Why do people feel the need to kick anyway? I have been kicked several times. When I go up, I never kick anybody, and I never wear boots(probably because I only own skate shoes). But here is an idea, next time someone with boots goes up, drop them!

ya, i know it's only a kick in the head, but when people go up, they should at leats try not to kick their legs like they have no control over them, it's just a kick but it sucks and when it's steel toed boots, it sucks even more, that's all i'm all i'm sayin.
Also, i wouldn't drop someone if they had boots on or anything, it's just that i'm sayin don't be a dick and kick like a moron. Oh Well, Cheers!

What also sucks is when someone falls in the pit and no one bothers to help them up. In Nor Cal when people fall, they are helped up ( well most of the time). I've been to shows in OC and seen people get trampled. Where is the love? Also, skinheads only want to hurt people in the pit, and how funny, they wear boots!

I was crowd surfing a few months ago, and I accidentally kicked someone in the head. I said I was sorry. But, I wasn't wearing boots, just chucks, so I don't think I hurt them too badly.

wah heh ... but to each their own i guess...good call on the falling person thing tho norcal...i mean every genuine pit i have been in (which excludes all ages and christian punk shows heh) have been violent and energetic , which are good things for a band to look for in a show, but the vast majority have followed the machine gun ettiquette and picked up those who they trampled on.
...its all fun and games people, if you get kicked in the head it's not a personal insult, unless youre emo then chances are that someone did it on purpose but then again you would also deserve it , tard =0). And if youre that offended find the boot boy and take him back to riverside.

Yeah NorCalKid, i think it's just mostly the skins (angry racist ones) here in Oc that don't bother to help people up if they fall. Cos' i see people fall and they instantly get helped back up to their feet.
Anyways, I agree that it's the Emo's who get offended.
I personally don't care really if i get kicked because they are accidents and not on-purposes.

What are emo's doing in a pit in the first place. The funniest sites at a show: girls who wear sandals, people who wear the shirt of the band playing, people who dress the same ( often rock-a- billys'), and last but not least, the people holding up the wall!

ha i know i have gone to many shows where people have fallen and people dont care and so they just hurridlystand back up and stuff..its pretty sad....but i would offer to help but mostly they are away from me..one time some big guy fell and iw as like "are you okay?" and hes like "yeah" and i was like alright...cuz i couldnt relaly help him that much....anywayssss.....haha and yes its funny when people are wearing the shirts with the bands playing....and i hate it when people are like "ahhh wat are u supposed to wear when u go to shows"

Hmmm... i don't really care what people wear to a show... but the sandles thing? that's not right. I guess that person was just waiting to loose their toes...Haha Cheers!
Oh, and to the Emo's... get a life

Ya it is kinda funny when your at an 18 V show or something and someones wearing an 18 V shirt, I don't know why I find that amusing I just do. If I like the band I'll buy a shirt after the show, but I think the only time I've worn a shirt of the band I was seeing was when my friends band was playing at this big venue, and I wanted to support...
Oh ya I'm seeing Bleeding Through next week at chain, and they dont allow stage diving so I think I'll be ok in the head kicking department. Anyone else going?

dude, the Glasshouse is my favorite venue here in So Cal. Besides, it's only a 10 minute drive from my home, so it's great. I think it's the perfect size for a venue, not too big, and not too small. And, they let you crowd surf. And, I have never paid more than 20 dollars for a show, and that was only once.
There's an awesome venue in New Jersey called Krome. That is THE best venue I have ever been to. It's so great. I know it's in Jersey, but, that's the only redeeming thing about that state.
About helping kids up out of the pit, this one time at the Glasshouse, some kid got hurt so badly, I think he broke his ankle. Anyway, I saw his pained expression on his face, so I put his arm around my shoulders and I helped him out of the pit to the couches in the back room where the bands hang out. So, he got saved from the pit AND he got to hang out with the bands.

The best venue in socal is the House of Blues in Downtown Disney. Tickets are actually reasonable!
