hey i wanna liberty spike my hiar but when my hair gets long it sarts to curl and i tried spikin it with glue and i thought it would striaghten it out but it wouldnt can someone hel me plz

hahaha curls? well personally i used to spike my hair...and then i stopped because i got tired of it and then i just recently started again...anyways sometimes i do a mohawk and then just like pigtail my hair on the sides...but usually i do liberty spikes..and my hair is rather long...but like short...like long enough so i dont have to spike it and i can jsut put it down and it will look normal...and just short...okpersonally i dont like using glue......its frustrating and there will be clumps of glue in your hair and yeah.....but i use ICE hair glue spiker thing....sometimes cuz thats like super expensive...and i use the hairspray extra hold aquanet and i use knkocks gelatin and when i need a little more...i will occassionally use a LITTLE of elmers white glue and then yeah thats it...

Haven't spiked my hair for years, but back in the old days we used to use egg-whites (not the yolk) with lots of the Extra-Hold Aquanet. Use a hair dryer as you're putting on the egg. Finish w/ the spray. If you do it right it will stick for days! Have fun getting it out! haha

Ok, I have curly hair too, and I try to straighten it, though, I've never tried to mohawk it or spike it, it's too long.

I got this stuff called Rusk Str8. It's an anti-frizz lotion that leaves your hair hard and straight. You can get it at any beauty supply store, like Sally Hanson's or something. It's about $8 for a 6oz. bottle. It leaves your hair really hard and holds pretty well.

egg whites never worked for me or i prolly just didnt know how to do it..yeah does it look that bad to you with curled ends?

I dunno about straighteners, but a good way to do spikes with long hair is this (it will take a lot of hair spray--use that extra strength aqua-net--you might need two cans)--take the attachment off the vacuum cleaner so that you just have the hole at the end of the tube. Put some hair (a good spike amount) into the hole, then have your friend spray the spike as you slowly pull the vacuum off--the vacuum will pull it out straight and then you spray it as the tube comes off. Spray a lot! This works great with even really long straight hair.
For straightener, I would try to find a straightener that's marketed to black people because a lot of them have really tight curly hair and need a really powerful straightener in most cases.

I have aquanet, the super hold, it's strong, but not as strong as most people say it is, eh I guess you'll have to use a lot of it then.

stonerpunk4life, your a fuckin' dweeb. What was with the racist comments in your "gangs post". Just because you spike your hair and paid too much for your shoes, doesn't make you shit... Why don't you have your mother do your hair like you did the last fifteen years of your life. Or maybe you and your friends could have a sleep-over and comb eachothers hair into spikes. Then, maybe, you both could walk around the mall stoned looking for attention. I'm sorry that your mothers new boyfriend is black, but that's no reason to hate....

I posted about liberty spiking a LONG ass time ago, and got the same exact responses... my hair is naturally hella curly, and spike-ing it isnt impossible. There is this hairspray shit called "Stiff it". put that shit on and it stays..you probably have to use some glue dude, it wont kill you... mine are 1 foot long, and it stays, so yeah...
