Selling out is how you look at it. I dont like major labels, but i'm not completely against them. I think it does change the band. One of the few bands who havent changed is the Offspring. They are my favorite band. They are so cool. I think that most kids today wouldn't even hear any punk if it wasn't for the smash record or the ignition. I probably wouldn't even be listening to punk if it wasnt for them. I think a lot of kids wouldn't, they just don't admit it. It sucks how they have always had a bad time. I like how Dexter created Nitro Records. That is the coolest label, they let you do your thing. It has great bands, Guttermouth, Afi, the vandels, TSOL. It is awesome. Dexter Holland, Noodles, Greg k, and Ron are my heros. They have really made a difference, it pisses me off when people say they suck. They have truely changed punk, so fuck everyone else!

I never listen to Offspring unless forced by having myself strapped down with no way of covering my ears . and punk wouldnt even be without the Ramones and sex pistols and The Velvet Underground.None of those bands changed unless a band member dropped out.and then they still only changed a little bit because a new band member always changes a band a lil bit. i still say offspring isnt punk not that i know that much about what is or isnt punk seeing as im not that punk. but still in my opinion they arent punk from what i have been forced to hear.but thats just me so think what you will .

I don't think signing on to a major label constitutes "selling out" (how I hate that term, but anyway.) "Selling out" means changing your sound to something that's easier for the general population to listen to- eg, simpler, less politically charged, etc.

The only time I'll stop listening to a band that gets "big" is if they become popular by changing their music to crap.

i have spottend a pattern grant you love offspring. plus i think the lable doen't change the band the band makes changes of there own lables can't make them change. dude you gotta get that bands change because they there tired of making the same shit. lables support the band not change them.

me like vandals. i didnt knwo they were on nitro. a band sells out if they change there music to make money. but if they get paid a lot by some big label for making the same music then kudos to them.
