SURF CITY SALOON 12/20/08 SHOWCASE:

Walking thru the parking lot at last nights epic debut of "Fork Tailed Devils" was
like a stroll thru the vex parking lot circa 1981, with seasoned veterans teeming
with anticipation. So many faces, I had not seen in years...once again, it felt
almost like a time warp, similar to the Outsiders showcase debut. Amazing.

In "Classic" HB form, many of those faces of early skinhead lore, brought with
them that powerful notion, we are not yet finished with bringing great hb music.
None could be more true, than what Fork Tailed Devils brought last night.....

This showcase was unique, in that it consisted of 3 Generations of punk rock,
all rolled up into one stage, one band, one voice. The songs are cutting edge,
sharp, fast and well organized composition. Dueling guitars, allows Sean Mallard
to step up his game to new levels, never seen before. I was really impressed.

Monsters drums, are powerful yet not overpowering, with tight intro's and mid
tempo changeup's he's proving to be the youngster to watch in the future, no
question about that. Pat Hall and Deano bring a powerful rythmn section that
reaches out and grabs you by the shirt collar, and forces you to listen.

Three songs into their set, it was difficult to surmise that these cats, have
only been together 6 weeks--yet they bring a hybrid sound of Don't No, HFL
and Evasive Action all rolled up into one neatly tight wrapped package. One
very significant difference with these guys, is their legendary frontman Paul.

Clear concise vocals, with a raspy growl almost scream--style with cutting
verse patterns is magnificent. The guy put forward his style, melded with the
"Viva the Revolution" crunchy Les Paul guitar sound of Mallard very nicely done.
This performance gets 9+ rating hovering right around a solid 10. No shit neither.

Look for these guys to "Bring-it" everytime they step onto the stage.
